Hanson Books
General

General Count: 14

These compilations are not all Hanson, but Hanson is mentioned in a significant portion of the book - at least a full paragraph.

1997 Billboard Music Yearbook by Joel Whitburn

Released in mid-1998, this monster 244-page book recaps all the hit albums and singles of 1997. There is a section in this book that talks about the "Hanson Phenomenon" (and MMMBop's #1 success, I'm sure), but I don't know how many pages it takes up, or where it is in the book. This book is pretty expensive, it retails for $35.

Time Annual 1997: The Year in Review by Time magazine

This hardcover book was released in late 1997/early 1998. Hanson are mentioned on pgs. 140-141 under their the headline, "Goodbye, Grunge - Hello, Hanson!" There is a photo from the Arthur Ashe Kid's Day performance.

Biography Today: Profiles of People of Interest to Young Readers
Volume 7, Number 1, January 1998

Released monthly by Omnigraphics, Inc., Biography Today is a book of biographies about famous celebrities that teens are interested in. This edition features Hanson as well as Princess Diana, Leann Rimes, and others.

Bliss 1998 Boy Poll Winners - UK

UK magazine Bliss released this glossy book of top 50 "finest and sexiest lads in the world," as voted by its readers. Taylor came in at #13.

On a side note: I don't have any Bliss magazines in my magazines section. I don't know if Hanson ever appeared on their cover, but if they did and you have a pic, send it over!

Most Wanted Holiday Hunks by Lisa Clancy

Published in late 1998, this poster book has 15 pages of full color photos of different celebs (of which Hanson is one), with info/stats on the opposite side.

Boys We Love by Jeanette Lane

A 48-page full color book about the "boys we love" - famous celebs like Leo, Prince William, Tiger Woods, Usher, and Hanson, to name a few. Hanson has a two page spread on pages 44-45.

My Fantasy Dream Date With ... by H.B. Gilmour

Published in 1999, this tween book featuring fantasy dating "stories" about famous celebrities like Nick Carter, Leonardio DiCaprio, and the infamous Taylor Hanson.

The Best of the Boys by Ellen Scordato

This book was released in mid-1998. It has facts and info about 35 of the "hottest guys," plus a 16 page color photo insert.

Rockin' Valetines by Devra Newberger Speregen

Publisihed in early 1999, this book has 24 valentines inside, plus a few pages of information about the celebrities on the valentines. Hanson has four different valentines and a whopping 3.5 pages dedicated to them (including the intro page) - more than any other artist in the book.

Got Issues Much? Celebrities Share Their Traumas and Triumphs by Randi Reisfeld and Marie Morreale

Published in 1999, this rather interesting book is about traumatic issues that celebrities have faced on the road to, or because of, stardom. The book is divided into several sections, including family issues, relationship issues, body and self image issues, and more. Hanson is the very first entry in the section, "Issues of Disappointment and Defeat." In it, the author discusses Hanson's prefame struggle to get recognized by a major label. It doesn't really tell us anything we don't already know, but it's still a good read.

Superstar Pinups!

This book is 8.5x11 and has over 100 pinups of various celebrities - in alphabetical order, no less. Hanson, of course, is under "H".

Does this pinup look familiar? It originated from this book.

The Ultimate Boy Band Book by Frederick Levy

I was surprised to find Hanson in this book, considering it was published in 2000. It's actually a decent write-up with some interesting information that *I* never knew before, like this quote: "Since we first put Hanson on a cover several months back [in 1997], our circulation increased 50 percent," said Carri Yasudada, managing editor of Bop and BB magazines. Pretty cool - the book goes into detail up through This Time Around's release, and a discography at the end of the section includes the album and single This Time Around.

Superstars: A Tribute to Heros Big and Small by Ken Jenkins

Superstars was released in 2001. It looks like it is a collection of fan's thoughts, memories, etc., of various celebrities, including Hanson. I don't have this book myself, so I can't say for certain what "Hanson memories" are in here...

101 Reasons The 90s Ruled by M.C. King

Released in 2005, this book paralells the E! countdown of the same name - Hanson make the list at #56.
