Tulsa, Tokyo & the Middle of Nowhere

Tulsa, Tokyo & the Middle of Nowhere (TTMON) was Hanson's first official straight-to-video release. It was released on VHS in 1997 and it holds the record for the best selling VHS concert video during the first week of release. Since DVDs became popular shortly after the release of TTMON, the video will probably hold this record forever. Woo hoo! Below are all the various versions of TTMON from all over the world.

TTMON in DVD format, released in 1998. Unlike the VHS release, the DVD edition has "Chapters" listed on the back cover, as well as a menu and a chapter selection on the DVD.

Interestingly, the DVD is region ALL (it can be viewed in any DVD player), not Region 1 like most US DVDs are.
TTMON/MON/TTA Combo - Mexico

Very rare TTMON, Middle of Nowhere & This Time Around Combo. This combo was released by Universal in Mexico in 2005.

Both CDs look almost identical and are orange in color, while the TTMON DVD has a reddish color.

Notice that on the back cover, the song This Time Around is listed after A Song To Sing - this is a typo. ASTS really is the last song on the the album.

Also, there is cover art from the Snowed In album behind the TTMON cover [pic], which is odd because neither the CDs nor DVD have anything to do with Snowed In...hmm.

Taiwanese TTMON 2 VCD set. You may be asking...why 2 VCDs? Well, I'm not exactly sure, especially since the US could fit it all onto one DVD. Maybe VCDs don't have enough space. In any case, this VCD comes with an OBI strip with Taiwanese text on the back. When you take the OBI strip off, there is English text on the actual back cover. I especially like this edition because the VCDs themselves have a picture of the continents on them, as if Hanson is taking over the world. They are really taking "Tulsa to Tokyo" literally, I think. ;-)

The fun thing about foreign stuff like this is that everything is subtitled. In this instance, the songs are subtitled in English, but everything else is subtitled in Taiwanese.

TTMON VCD - Hong Kong

Extremely rare Hong Kong TTMON VCD - notice how the back cover art differs from the Taiwanese release above. This edition also comes with two VCDs, but there are no subtitles, not even a title menu - it just plays the movie.

TTMON VCD - China

Extremely rare Chinese TTMON VCD with front cover art different from any other release! Like the Taiwan and Hong Kong versions, this Chinese version is split into two VCDs; one VCD is red and one is purple/bluish. This one is (in my opinion) the rarest of the three, but it is highly possible that this one is a bootleg version.
